Folding In Redux
Folding In Redux (2018)
Folding In Redux is part of larger piece of research into the lineage of Judson-era dancing spaces in New York City, focusing on the way these spaces shape the dances and dancers who inhabit them.
Redux emerged from an interview with Amy Miller, Associated Artistic Director of Gibney Dance Company. In the interview she evocitavely described a duet from Gibney Dance's evening-length work, Folding In. Using the audio from that interview, I worked with dancers Maddie Leonard-Rose and Tim Bendernagel to reimagine that choreography, moving it from 890 Broadway in New York City to Sullivant Hall in Columbus, OH.
